Netiquette

Hello and welcome to the website and channels of elly. Great to have you here! Let’s take a stand against hate speech online together! Against racism, queerphobia, every other form of discrimination. Together in solidarity for one another!

Everybody can freely and critically share their opinions with us. To make sure everybody feels welcome, we’ve set up some simple rules of behaviour. Please take a look at them:

  • Be respectful and polite! Please make sure that your contributions are fair and factual. Take responsibility for your actions and treat others the same way you want to be treated - even if the discussions become more heated
  • Stay constructive! Please try to stay on topic and to post helpful contributions. Constructive criticism is great, as long as it’s respectful!
  • Mind your privacy! Don’t share personalised information like your address or telephone number. Please also respect the privacy of others and don’t post their private information without former consent!
  • Mind copyright-laws. Only post things that you created yourself or that you have the rights to post for. This includes copying and pasting from others without references of source.
  • Don’t post any spam or ads. Try to avoid posting double or unnecessary posts.

Don’t forget that behind most profiles, there’s a real person on the internet. If you see something that you deem unfit, please contact us directly. That means, to secure an open and friendly way of communication, the following behaviours will not be tolerated by us:

  • insults, degradation and the discrimination of other people or groups of people
  • threats and calls for violence
  • pornography and displays of violence
  • calls for vigilantism
  • intentionally factually wrong statements oder posts
  • infringement of third-party-rights by, for example, publishing private information
  • election advertising and advertisements for political parties
  • misuse of the comment section for advertising or calls for donations (Spam)
  • citations without proper allowance by the rightsholder, without proper source
  • links to external websites without connection to the original topic

We reserve the right to hide such posts or to delete them and to report them to authorities, without informing the original poster beforehand. Every user is responsible for their postings. Neither elly nor their sponsoring organization resolut e.V. assume liability. We reserve the right to adapt or add to this netiquette as we see fit.

You contribute to our channels through your postings and to an open discussion. Please bear in mind that your postings can be seen and cited in connection to your username.
